Information about Paros Port

Paros Island features a small port which is easy to navigate. You will not have any trouble finding the gate as there are only three of them. If you are reaching Paros Port by car or bus from another location, be aware that there might be traffic. Most of the time there are two ships docked in the port and that has as an outcome a traffic jam.

To reach the port of Paros from other locations on the island you can use the local bus line, a taxi or a transfer service. It is useful to know that the local bus line has the final stop right next to port gates. If you choose a taxi or a transfer service, we suggest you make an appointment the day before. If you have a rental car, you can drop it off at the port after communicating with the rental agency.

We suggest you arrival 60 minutes before the departure.

The capital of Sifnos is Apollonia. It is a village built in the center of the island. Right next to it, you will find Artemonas village; a small yet picturesque place with a touch of authenticity.

The island features small coastal settlements like Faros, Vathi, Cheronissos and even Platis Gialos. If you wish to see a little bit of Cycladic authenticity with caique boats, you must visit a few of them. Of course, each one of the settlements features a beach.

What to discover in Sifnos?

One of the “must visit” attractions of Sifnos Island is Kastro Village, situated east of Apollonia. As “Kastro” means castle, you will find here a picaresque settlement, built around a small hill. On its east side, as you walk around it, you will see a small Epta Martyron chapel. This is one of the most frequently photographed spots of the island.

Another popular attraction is Panagia Chrissopigi church. It is a church built on a tiny peninsula and you can find it between Faros and Platis Gialos.

There is something else of which Sifnos is proud of, and it is its tradition of hand-made earthenware production.

You will see these artefacts almost everywhere. In specialized workshops, in tourism shops and on the exterior of houses. This gives a different look to Sifnos Island, along with the stone used as a building material.
